Our Residential Property department has been in existence since the firm was founded. It provides professional help covering the complete range of residential property transactions, including:
- Sale and Purchase of houses, flats, maisonettes and all types of property whether the title is freehold or leasehold.
- Mortgages, including re-mortgages.
- Equity Release schemes and other financial arrangements which may be done in association with our tax planning department.
- Planning permission and building regulation approvals.
- Advice on all ownership issues.
We pride ourselves on providing a professional service which ensures that all aspects of a transaction are properly dealt with. Our fees are based on the value of the property and the complexity of the transaction and we will always discuss these with you before the commencement of any work. We are happy to quote a fixed and competitive fee and will also make you aware of any other likely costs (disbursements) which we may have to pay out on your behalf e.g. search fees, registration fees, stamp duty etc.
The department is headed by Peter York who is a partner in the firm. He joined Smith Chamberlain on obtaining his solicitor’s qualification in 1980 and has over 25 years experience in dealing with all types of conveyancing work.
Janelle Holt is the main conveyancer in the department and has wide experience in all aspects of residential property matters.
Assistance in the department is provide by Barbara Reynolds, Judy Pateman and Rachel Warwick who are always available to provide back up. |
